Homemade Papaya Jam
We buy a bunch of fruits every week, by the end of the week. I get to have some overly ripe of fruits lying in the fridge. Last week it was a papaya. We bought a beautiful papaya from the market and somehow totally forgot about it. It was in my fruit basket and when i got a peek into it, it was totally ripe. It was like so ripe, you cannot even peel them. First i thought of making this smoothie. But then i found that we are running out of jams. So decided to make some healthy homemade papaya jam that will last for a week for us..

As usual i don't like to add pectin or preservatives in my jam..I make it with just fruit puree, sugar and a dash of lemon juice. The lemon acts as a preservative and also i don't make a whole bunch of jam. I always make a small batch of jam and keep it in fridge, it will last me for a good couple of weeks or even a month. Hope you will try this out and let me know how it turns out for you..
How to Make Homemade Papaya Jam
- Take papaya puree and sugar in a pan, mix well.
- Heat on high heat till the mix gets thick.
- Once it is thick, turn off the heat, and add in lemon juice and mix well.
- Cool this down completely. Store this in a clean dry air tight container in fridge.
- Make sandwiches and enjoy..
