Why I love this non alcoholic sangria recipe

Last Wednesday, we had our friends Ashley and Anthony over for dinner (they’re the friendswe went to Amsterdam with last year). It was the first time we’d all gotten to hang out since Marc returned from Kazakhstan, so I made some roasted chicken and potatoes and carrot salad.

Since Ashley and I are both pregnant, I thought it would be fun to have some mocktails to go with our dinner – and I decided that virgin sangria would be the perfect fit since it was finally nice outside.

I found arecipe on Our Best Bites, but I adapted it to make a little more. Even though we didn’t end up drinking it all, I wanted the recipe to serve a crowd. I changed the proportions and added whatever fruits I already had on hand. The recipe turned out great, and tasted really similar to regular sangria. Plus, the fruit gets extra sweet when it soaks up the juices.

Next time you need option for non alcoholic co*cktails, you should make this sangria recipe. It’s perfect for the upcoming summer, and it’s so simple. Just serve over some ice to keep it cold, and enjoy.

Here’s what you’ll need to make it

How to make non alcoholic sangria without wine

Prepare your fruit.Chop the fruit into bite, sized pieces. I like the slice my citrus fruit and strawberries, and cube my apples, but you can really do cut them anyway you want.

Mix the juice base.In a large pitcher (about 2 quarts), mix the fruit juices with the thawed apple juice concentrate.

Soak the fruit.Add the fruit to the pitcher and pop it in the fridge. Allow the sangria to rest in the fridge and give the fruit some time to really soak up the juices and add flavor to the sangria.

Top with bubbles. When you’re ready to serve, fill the rest of the pitcher with club soda or sparkling water. You could also use a soda here, but I don’t like it that sweet.

How far in advance should you make sangria? I like to make this recipe the morning I’m going to serve it. If it’s a mid-day event, I usually make it the night before to allow the fruit enough time to soak. But, you can make it just before serving and it will still be great.

How long will sangria last in the fridge? This non alcoholic sangria should last for a few days in the fridge. Hold off on topping the pitcher with club soda if you won’t drink it all right away.
