Notes :
- Small onions/shallots are recommended for sambar rice which gives a nice flavor and taste.
- I used homemade sambar powder. You could use store bought powder too.
- You can add ghee fried cashews at the end to make it more rich.
- Always serve this sambar rice hot or warm. Otherwise it will become dry.
- Any Normal cooking rice can be used to prepare this sambar rice.
- For 1 cup of rice and ½ cup of toor dal , 4.5 cups of water is sufficient with prior soaking of rice for 20 minutes. If you want it too mushy add 5 cups of water.
- Adjust spices & green chilliaccording to your preference.
- You can add any veggies of your choice.
- Always check with your pediatricianbefore introducing any new food.

Thank you for your feedback on chettinad mushroom gravy. Regarding sambar Sadham, we cook toor dal and rice together. Hence water amount 4.5 cups is for cooking both dal and rice. So that it gives mushy sambar sadam. If you don't want mushy reduce water quantity to 4 cups. Hope it helps!
